چکیده

UNLABELLED PlantCAZyme is a database built upon dbCAN (database for automated carbohydrate active enzyme annotation), aiming to provide pre-computed sequence and annotation data of carbohydrate active enzymes (CAZymes) to plant carbohydrate and bioenergy research communities. The current version contains data of 43,790 CAZymes of 159 protein families from 35 plants (including angiosperms, gymnosperms, lycophyte and bryophyte mosses) and chlorophyte algae with fully sequenced genomes. Useful features of the database include: (i) a BLAST server and a HMMER server that allow users to search against our pre-computed sequence data for annotation purpose, (ii) a download page to allow batch downloading data of a specific CAZyme family or species and (iii) protein browse pages to provide an easy access to the most comprehensive sequence and annotation data. Carbohydrate-Active Enzymes in Pythium and Their Role in Plant Cell Wall and Storage Polysaccharide Degradation

Carbohydrate-active enzymes (CAZymes) are involved in the metabolism of glycoconjugates, oligosaccharides, and polysaccharides and, in the case of plant pathogens, in the degradation of the host cell wall and storage compounds. We performed an in silico analysis of CAZymes predicted from the genomes of seven Pythium species (Py. aphanidermatum, Py. arrhenomanes, Py. irregulare, Py. iwayamai, Py...

The Carbohydrate-Active EnZymes database (CAZy): an expert resource for Glycogenomics

The Carbohydrate-Active Enzyme (CAZy) database is a knowledge-based resource specialized in the enzymes that build and breakdown complex carbohydrates and glycoconjugates. As of September 2008, the database describes the present knowledge on 113 glycoside hydrolase, 91 glycosyltransferase, 19 polysaccharide lyase, 15 carbohydrate esterase and 52 carbohydrate-binding module families. These famil...

Effects of Copper Heavy Metal and Interaction With Nitric Oxide on Growth Parameters, Photosynthetic Pigment, Soluble Carbohydrate Content and Antioxidant Enzymes in Portulaca oleracea L. Ferdous Fendereski, Mahlagha Ghorbanli* and Arian Sateei

Copper is one of the heavy metal in plant that causes toxicity at high concentration via producing reactive oxygen species. Nitric oxide can protect cells from oxidative stress produce by reactive oxygen species. Effect of different concentrations of copper (1000, 1500 and 2000 μM) and interaction with nitric oxide (100 and 150 μM) were studied on growth parameters (shoot and root length) and s...

Carbohydrate-active enzymes involved in the secondary cell wall biogenesis in hybrid aspen.

Wood formation is a fundamental biological process with significant economic interest. While lignin biosynthesis is currently relatively well understood, the pathways leading to the synthesis of the key structural carbohydrates in wood fibers remain obscure. We have used a functional genomics approach to identify enzymes involved in carbohydrate biosynthesis and remodeling during xylem developm...

Expansion of the enzymatic repertoire of the CAZy database to integrate auxiliary redox enzymes

BACKGROUND Since its inception, the carbohydrate-active enzymes database (CAZy; http://www.cazy.org) has described the families of enzymes that cleave or build complex carbohydrates, namely the glycoside hydrolases (GH), the polysaccharide lyases (PL), the carbohydrate esterases (CE), the glycosyltransferases (GT) and their appended non-catalytic carbohydrate-binding modules (CBM). The recent d...
